Pinellas Update: FREE Community Notification Service

Pinellas County’s Community Notification Service is FREE for Pinellas County residents and will give us multiple ways to get the word to you whenever an emergency situation arises. All you have to do is register your contact information with the CodeRED Emergency Notification Service and an automated message will be sent to alert you to local emergencies.

  • Your contact information will remain protected and confidential.
  • Subscribers will receive a notification on each contact method they provide to us.
  • Each member of your household that would like to receive emergency notifications can register with this FREE service.

Pinellas Update: Sandbags- Tropical Storm Erika

The forecast for Tropical Storm Erika is uncertain, but residents are urged to be prepared for the possibility of tropical storm force winds and potential flooding.

Sandbags will be available to residents of unincorporated Pinellas County on Saturday, Aug. 29, and Sunday, Aug. 30, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at these locations:

  • John Chesnut Sr. Park, 2200 East Lake Road in Palm Harbor
  • John S. Taylor Park, 1100 Eighth Ave. SW in Largo
  • Lealman Park, corner of 39th St. N. and 54th Ave. N.

Information on the additional availability of sandbags will be updated as the storm approaches.

Pinellas Back to School Events

If you are looking for some extra support getting children ready for school, you may want to check out some “Back to School” events.  Please see the date, time, location and services available for events being held in Pinellas County, Florida below:

Date:  Saturday, August 1st

Location:  Enoch Davis Recreation Center, 1111 – 18th Ave. S., St. Petersburg
Time:  8:00 am to 12:00 pm
Services Available:  Free bike helmets and safety information, medical exams, school supplies, agency information.
NOTE:  Backpacks and school supplies to the first 2,000 school aged children.
Special Instructions:  Child and guardian must be present.  Immunization records required for referrals.
